Always up for a challenge, Don-Mor Safety entered the French fishing market by taking
space in Itech’Mer in Lorient in October.
In March, Don-Mor was a guest at Conchypeche (a major shellfish trade show in St
Lo, Normandy).
The 2011 show was held in the fishing port of St Malo, in Brittany.
Don-Mor Safety wins Fishing News Safety Award for Regatta Fishermen’s trousers with built-in buoyancy
What the Judges said:
“A superb innovation which will inevitably save lives.”
“This is a positive step forward for the introduction of personal buoyancy aids, especially with the practicalities of restricted movement while onboard the vessel working.”
“Answers all the criteria. These suits will save the lives of fishermen.”
Don Morrison (L) with show organiser, Erick Bossard, of CER France.
The 2000 mile road trip was rewarded by three days of frenetic business with excellent sales for the Horizon and Harbour jackets as well as flotation suits, including the Fisherman oilskins with built-in buoyancy.
Visitors to France’s biennial expo showed keen interest in safety on the water and were impressed by the light weight, flexible flotation material used in the Regatta range of jackets and suits

The most dangerous
job in the UK
Don-Mor Safety won the contract to supply relief aid to the Yemeni Coastguard to equip them in their battle to save the lives of Somali refugees fleeing by boat across the Gulf of Aden.
The shipment included Kon-Tiki 98 lifejackets, lifebuoys, first aid kits, emergency blankets, torches and body bags and was funded through the International Organisation for Migration.
The shipment had to be assembled within a very short lead time and flown from Aberdeen airport to Sana’a airport. The freight was handled through Pentagon Freight.
