Definitions
CE is the mark for European Norm (EN) relating to personal protective equipment.
CEN (the Committee of European Norms) makes the regulations regarding personal protective equipment, which member countries are obliged to observe.
SOLAS (International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea) is a set of regulations in shipping, shipbuilding and sea trade, concerned with safety at sea. The ‘steering wheel’ motif is the European Maritime Directive’s symbol of a product or place of production approved in accordance with SOLAS regulations. ‘Notified Body’ refers to the technical supervisory body.
